Born and brought up in Paris, I studied history and was destined to become a teacher, as I like working with people. However, I also wanted more freedom and flexibility. So, in 2009, I started giving tours as a volunteer and completed by professional guiding qualification the following year. I love this job as I’m always surrounded by people, I get to share my passion for history, and I create personal relationship during small private tours. My favorite themes? History (ex. Monuments like the Basilica of Saint-Denis, Saint Chapelle and Les Invalides), le Marais (Medieval architecture, aristocratic history) and the Louvre. As well as history, I’m also passionate about fashion, travelling and psychology.

This is a review for Caroline and the wonderful Versailles tour she provided our family. She promptly met us at our Versailles hotel and we walked over to the palace. Caroline provided us with an in-depth tour of Versailles in English. She focused on the architecture of various structures and exterior gardens as well as a history of the many royals, aristocrats, and commoners who were part of life at Versailles. Caroline was prepared with many photos and educated us on palace intrigue and scandals, this made the tour very interactive and fun. We were a family of four with two young daughters, and they enjoyed learning about the gods depicted in sculptures and art in the palace as well as outside in the gardens and fountains, we especially liked learning about the Greek sun god Apollo rising from the sea at daybreak in his four-horse chariot. We were very impressed with Caroline’s knowledge of the structures and historical figures. We highly recommend having Caroline as a guide at Versailles and will contact her again for future visits to sites in France.

This is a review for our wonderful guide to Versailles, Caroline. Caroline was delightful from the moment we met her. She got delayed on the metro and immediately contacted us to let us know. On the way to Versailles she let us know exactly what to expect for our day. We were truly impressed with her extensive knowledge of the history of the site. She made the information interesting and fun. We would highly recommend her as a guide to anyone visiting France. Also, anyone visiting Versailles NEEDS a guide and Caroline would be a perfect choice!
