Your day will start with a pickup from Naples or Sorrento (city center, cruise terminal or railway station). Your private guide and chauffeur will drive you towards the lost city of Pompeii (or the Amalfi coast first if you prefer), destroyed by Mount Vesuvius volcano's eruption in 79 A.D. Pompeii is today an archeological site that contains numerous well preserved remains of the Roman Time such as such as the Suburban Bath House, the city walls, the Forum, the Public baths, the Teatro Grande and many objects of daily use. Strolling around the ancient streets during a 2-hour walking tour, let your knowledgeable tell you the history of Pompeii and its inhabitants. For lunch, your guide will propose you different restaurant options to get a taste of the local gastronomy. Leaving Pompeii, you will hop back on your vehicle and travel south to the stunning Amalfi coast, enjoying some exceptional views of the mediterranean coast. You will visit two of the most beautiful villages (you will choose the ones that interest you the most), all famous for their dramatic coastal views and colorful houses, but also all unique for their particularities: Amalfi with its medieval architecture, Ravello with its majestuous villas, Positano with its white washed houses and numerous art galleries, and Sorrento with its delicious specialties and shopping opportunities.

ITINERARY
Make the most of your time in Naples or Sorrento combining the beautiful Amalfi coast and the Ancient city of Pompeii on a unique day tour. After customizing your itinerary, let your private guide drive you to Pompeii in the morning (can be done in the afternoon too) where you will see the fossilized remains (such as the ancient city walls, the Suburban Bath House, the Forum, the Public baths, the Teatro Grande, the bakeries and many other highlights witnessing the past) and learn about the history of this UNESCO world heritage site on a 2-hour guided tour. After enjoying some free time for a lunch, your guide will drive you to the Amalfi coast, another UNESCO-listed site. At your own rhythm, you will explore two of its four jewels such as Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and Sorrento (according to your choice), and enjoy some breathtaking views of the coast along the way. At the end of the day, your guide will drive you back to your departure point. NOTE: Access to the monuments in Pompeii is subjected to their availability and actual opening.

Born and raised in Naples (I am a real local!), I have been guiding for 20 years and since the age of 17, starting with some tours in Pompeii. I have a Master's Degree in Art History and a solid experience being a tour manager in different European countries as well as in the Caribbean sea. Today I can speak also Spanish, French, and English, a language skill I improved while living in Canada for 6 months. Licensed guide and driver, I enjoy meeting new people and helping them discover my beautiful city and its surroundings. Today I manage a small tourism company in Naples and the Campania, and I work together with another passionate guide named Giuseppe. We had a fabulous time on our day trip with Fabrizio. He picked us up from the cruise port and suggested that we head to the coast first and Pompei on the way back to avoid Pompei cruise ship crowds. That suggestion was spot on and allowed us a fantastic and fairly uncrowded tour of Pompei in the afternoon. Fabrizio definitely knows his stuff about Pompei. Kids and adults equally loved it. But, back to the morning. We took a drive to Sorrento where Fabrizio was able to arrange a private pizza cooking class, which the kids absolutely loved. And, the pizza was amazing. Definitely the best we have ever had. All in all, a fantastic day in the port of Naples.

There is something to be said about booking a special tour guide to take you to heavily traveled tourist sights. We were wise enough to book an amazing tour guide Giuseppe! Our group of 6 not only got special attention, but detailed information about what we were seeing that we would not have had a chance to learn about otherwise. Our tour started in Pompeii and was more informative than I could have imagined -- and I was an Ancient History major in college! Even the two teenagers along were fascinated. The tour lasted almost 2 hours and certainly covered a large portion of the site of Pompeii. From Pompeii, we left for a tour of some of the most beautiful scenery along the Italian Coast -- The Amalfi Coast. We not only saw several of the small cities that tourists often descend on, but also some small mountain villages that were free of all the tourist traffic. This 8 hour tour was one of the highlight of our Western Mediterranean cruise. I can't recommend it enough. RICHARD B.

We used this private company to tour the Amalfi coast, Sorrento, and Pompeii from the final port of Naples during a Mediterranean cruise. They were rererred to us by our travel agent who experienced them a few months earlier on a trip of her own. Our guide Fabrizio was welcoming, gracious, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! His custom tour for the four of us provided breathtaking views along our informative coastal drive with perfect stops, and a fabulous jam packed walking tour of Pompeii sharing so much of the wonderful history and highlights of this unbelievable attraction.
