An indulgent walk through the Old Town

WITH
Laurianne | about the guide

This guided walk offers you an indulgent introduction to the city of Marseille. During 2.5 hours, you will savor the culinary delights of the cité phocéenne accompanied by an experienced local guide. Your visit will begin at the Vieux Port, where the Greeks settled over 2,600 years ago. How about some Marseille-inspired Fish & Chips down by the water? Next stop? The oldest district in Marseille, le Panier. This is a delightful place laced with narrow winding streets and artisan food shops. Accompanied by your guide, you will sample an array of local produce such as olive oil, pastis, navettes (biscuits made with orange blossom water) and delicious artisanal ice cream. The tour will finish in the newly built EuroMéditerranée district where old monuments like Marseille Cathedral and Fort Saint-Jean blend in with the contemporary museum complex, the MuCEM. How about some olive oil chocolate by the cathedral to finish in sugary style?

Marseille et la Provence

I grew up in the Auvergne and moved to the sunny south 10 years ago to finish my studies. I fell in love with the beautiful region around Marseille and have lived there ever since. After finishing my studies in cultural project management and event management, I decided to launch my own company in the tourism sector. Since being declared European Culture Capital in 2013, Marseille has been attracting more and more visitors and I want to help them understand the city better. I like showing visitors the thriving artisan workshops and the local way of life. Above all, I wanted to show them all the good things about living in Marseille. Always optimistic and dynamic, I love the sun, sea and nature. My passions? Travelling and meeting people from different cultures.

“Laurianne was our tour guide for the day and she was truly amazing. I felt like I hired a friend for the day. She was so nice and accommodating. She was professional yet personable. We really wanted to experience Marseille the way the locals do and she provided us with that experience. Every shop, store and restaurant she took us to was part of the Marseille we were looking for. She also gave us tips of Restaurant's and place to visit along with helping us find our way around with the bus and train. I plan on visiting France again and if available I would definitely request Laurianne.”
