Learn about Seville Jewish culture and history on a 3-hour walking tour, including the Sephardic museum and the Great Mosque-Cathedral

WITH
Elena Maria | about the guide

Established in Seville in the 6th century BC, the Jewish community was the biggest in Muslim Spain with its 33 synagogues and large number of doctors, merchants, and scientists. This exclusive 3-hour walking tour will bring you back in time when Jews were ruling over Andalusia. Led by a professional guide passionate about religion, you will learn about the history, culture and traditions of Sephardic people and visit the main places connected with them.

You will discover the Great Mosque-Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Spain’s most important monuments as well as a great example of Islamic architecture. Built in 785, its structure evolved right along with the centuries.

Your private guide will also take you for a stroll in the old Jewish quarter where you will see the Synagogue, the Jewish Street, and the Arabic Market.

Your Sephardic tour would not be complete without a visit to the Sephardic museum where you will enjoy a complete overview of the former jewish life including traditional food recipes.

Born in a small town (Ecija) near Cordoba, I completed my master degree in Hospitality Management before going back to study to obtain my professional guiding license. Passionate about the story of my country - and especially Andalusia where I am from - I organize private tours in Seville and Cordoba, bringing back to life the monuments and stories of the past. When I began as a tour guide, I always paid attention to my clients’ feedback to make sure I provide them with the best attention and service. I love seeing their enthusiasm during the visits. This is what makes my job unique and wonderful. My clients come from all around the world and I enjoy meeting these different nationalities. That gives me also the opportunity to travel to different countries in the same day.
