The Castelli Romani region surrounding Rome is known for its fertile lands and wineries. A large part of the day will be spent outside of the city in the picturesque area of the Monteporzio Catone. On this exclusive tour of 5-6 hours, you will meet with local wine producers to learn about the grapes that grow in the Lazio region as well as the wine making process. You will also enjoy a wine tasting accompanied with bruschetta, cold cuts, pecorino cheese and local olive oil. After the tasting, your driver will take you to town of Frascati to explore the winding streets and beautiful views before heading to the Pope's summer residence in Gondalfo. You will then a enjoy a late lunch in a restaurant overlooking at the Lake Albano, and where you will taste different dishes made with local/seasonal specialties.

ITINERARY

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel to start your day in the Roman countryside of Castelli Romani, in the Monteporzio Catone region. You will start with the visit of a local vineyard and enjoy a tasting of regional wines. Afterwards, you will visit the hill-top town of Frascati from where you will marvel at the breathtaking views of Rome from afar before heading to Gandolfo where you will see the summer residence of the Pope from outside. There, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in a restaurant overlooking Lake Albano. Afterwards, your driver will bring you back to your hotel in Rome. NOTE: A tour for a larger group than 4 people could be arranged for an extra price, please contact the guide for the details.
