Montmartre photography Tour

Walking tour through the big and small stories of the bohemian Montmartre

WITH
Marion | about the guide

A former small village perched on a hill north of Paris, Montmartre dominates the capital from a height of 130 meters. In this picturesque area full of culture and history, the artistic atmosphere continues to live and renew itself through iconic locations such as the Place du Tertre, Moulin Rouge and Place Emile Goudeau. From its Sacred Heart Basilica, you can admire one of the best views of the capital. Today, it is in Montmartre we can feel the bohemian life which so many artists were inspired. Throughout the ascent of the hill, you will discover the great story of this very special area of Paris, which, thanks to the artists who have lived and stayed here, has retained the remains of artistic and cultural revolutions. With your guide, you will enjoy a photographic stroll in the footsteps of humanist photographers and you will discover original places of the neighborhood as well as the witnesses’ photos of their history. You will also experience a photo-shoot in the Montmartre of Cartier-Bresson, André Kertész, Nadar, Brassaï. At the end of your ride, enjoy a good meal in the restaurant Le Moulin de la Galette, a historic site, a remnant of the bohemian Montmartre, which inspired one of the most famous Impressionist works: the well-known "Bal du Moulin de la Galette" by Renoir. You will also enjoy a drink at the Café des Deux Moulins which served as a scenery to the film "The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain" in the emblematic street Lepic.

Originally from the Loire Valley, I grew up surrounded by art, thanks to my parents, two teachers who always brought me in museums and historical monuments... After my studies in art history, I did an internship at the Chateau de Fontainebleau; which decided me to Paris to live close to museums, monuments and culture. Wishing to convey and share my passion for history and art, I decided to become a guide-lecturer. I am a true passionate and this is what characterizes me the most, I think. I am very dynamic, and visitors usually say that my visits are alive and animated. I love laughing about small historical anecdotes, talk about "little" stories to explain the "great" History. And what I like most of all in my job are the reactions, smiles, and laughs of my guests. I love to make my visits a real moment of exchange and sharing. Follow me on the footsteps of Molière and its Comédie Française, as well as in bohème stories of Montmartre.
