Nested in the South of France on the Mediterranean coast between the historic villages and the moutains, the beautiful Italian Riviera has a lot to offer. Passing along the panoramic views and the lands of luxurious vegetation, your local guide will drive you to the medieval town of Ventimiglia or San Remo, pearls of the Ligurian coast and real showcases of the italian gastronomy, especially fresh pastas. There, you will walk through the old streets full of little chapels and colorful houses, enjoying the anecodtes and comments from your guide. Then, you will visit the old local markets (the Ventimiglia market has the size of a third of the whole town), discovering the Italian food including pasta, cheeses, vines, and other specialities made of fish and seafood. In the markets, you will also enjoy browsing the different arts and crafts, and artisan products made of leather such as bags and luggage. At noon, you will sit in one of the sunny terraces and soak up the lively atmopshere while enjoying a delicious italian lunch with a tasty creamy cappucino and a home-made ice cream. In the afternoon, you will head to a traditional pasta factory where you will learn about the pasta-making process and meet with professional chefs who will tell you about the different varieties of pastas such as Tagliatelle, Ravioli, Torte verdi, Gnocchi, Lasagne but also the fiori di pasta, the local specialty. Afterwards, you will continue your stroll in the picturesque city where you will be able to buy some fresh quality products in the Via Cavour (in Ventimiglia) whose prices are 30% to 50% lower than in France.

ITINERARY
Spend a day outside of France, enjoying the beautiful and lively atmosphere of the Italian Riviera and its colorful seaside villages. Your local guide will come to pick you up at your hotel to drive you to San Remo or Ventimiglia, passing the border in less than two hours. There, you will visit the centre of these historic little towns and their famous food markets where you will also find all kind of arts and crafts. After a tasty italian lunch in a cosy local restaurant, you will visit an authentic pasta factory where you will meet with chefs and learn about the tradition and process of pasta-making. Your day will continue with some shopping time in the best gastronomic boutiques, before you get back to your hotel in the French Riviera.
