Soak up the charming Provencal atmosphere in the port city of Marseille with this exclusive day tour led by a local. After being picked up by your guide in a comfortable Minivan Mercedes, you will head to the Old Port where your day will start with a little stroll. Heart of the city, the Old Port boasts a rich history. With your guide, you will learn about its past and its role in the city's economy and development over the centuries. As you walk, take a glimpse of the stunning views of the city. You will then head to the iconic fish market located on the docks. Your tour will continue with a visit of the Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, a Neo-Byzantine Catholic masterpiece from where you will enjoy some breathtaking views of Marseille. Afterwards, you will re-embark your car, passing by some main landmarks such as the Pharo Palace, the Longchamp Palace, the Panier district and the Sainte-Marie-Majeure de Marseille Cathedral. Along the way, you will enjoy several stops to taste the local specialties such as the pastis (anise-seed-flavoured spirit). Last but not least, your chauffeur guide will drive you outside of Marseille towards the spectacular Calanques National Park where you discover some unique natural landscapes made of crystal-clear waters surrounded by rocky cliffs. ITINERARY
Experience the perfect introduction to Marseille and its surroundings on a full day tour combining walking, tasting and sightseeing. There, you will enjoy a guided stroll and visit the fish market before re-boarding your vehicle for a sightseeing tour of the main landmarks including the Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, the Pharo Palace, and the Sainte-Marie-Majeure de Marseille Cathedral. As you drive, you will enjoy several stops to taste local foods and drinks. Afterwards, you will leave Marseille behind and let your guide drive you to the dramatic Calanques National Park, famous for its turquoise waters and rocky promontories. Your guide will take you back to the departure point at the end of the day.

Originally from Lyon, I fell in love with Marseille (and with a Marseillaise who shares my life today) during a trip at the beginning of my studies; an important period for me as many things shifted unexpectedly: while I was studying medicine at the university, a serious motorcycle accident forced me to stay in the hospital for two years. During this time, I studied foreign languages (including Chinese) and I decided to change career to focus on my passion for travel. After travelling the world, I discovered that the greatest pleasures were usually the simplest. As a tour guide, I wanted to share this sense of pleasure with visitors coming to discover Marseille. After several experiences in local agencies, I decided to create my own company specializing in tailor-made tours. Today I guide in French and English in the beautiful city of Marseille and its surroundings. Provence is a wonderful area full of natural, cultural and historical treasures. Also passionate about gastronomy and oenology, I like to implement these themes in my tours. At my side, discover the best of Marseille with the eyes of a local; or indulge with olive oil and rosé tastings in Provence while crossing the lavender fields. A personal detail: during my spare time, I am a volunteer gardener in fruits and vegetables community gardens.
