Discover two beautiful Provencal towns on this exclusive day tour from Marseille. Your local guide will pick you up directly at your hotel in a comfortable minivan Mercedes, and drive you to Avignon, a stunning UNESCO-listed city. Famous for being the 14th-century seat of the Pontifical court, Avignon is also renowned for its magnificent Saint-Bénézet bridge (also called the Avignon bridge) built in the 12th century. After a guided stroll in the historic center, you will see the Pope Palace and the Saint-Bénézet bridge from afar with a possibility to visit them at your own coast. Your Avignon tour will end in the local Halles Market where you will browse the colorful stalls filled with fresh products. Afterwards, you will re-embark your minivan and head to the wine-growing town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Once there, you will savor a delicious lunch in a traditional restaurant suggested by your guide (one of them is La mère Germain, the restaurant of General de Gaulle's cook). After lunch, you will take a walk to a wine cellar where you will learn about the local winemaking process, with possibility of wine tasting. You will then see the 14th century Papal castle from afar before going to a Château for a tour and a wine tasting. Your guide will drive you back to Marseille at the end of the day.
