On this exclusive full day tour from Lyon, learn about the world-renowned Beaujolais Crus and become a wine connoisseur while enjoying plentiful tastings. Your driver and local expert guide will pick you up in a comfortable vehicle and drive you towards the Beaujolais region. Taking the famous scenic road of the Grand Crus (Great Wines), you will travel down the most scenic roads lined with endless vineyards, historical Chateaux, and picturesque wine-growing villages such as Saint-Amour, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Vilié-Morgon. On the way, your guide will tell you about the history of the Cru region and its multiples Appellations. You will also enjoy several stops allowing you to take pictures from the breathtaking landscape. Your first stop will be in an old winery producing some red wine. There, you will meet with the winemakers, and enjoy a tasting of three wines accompanied with a mâchon (traditional snack composed of bread and cheese), followed by a complete guided tour of the winery. At lunchtime, you will discover the delicious regional cuisine. Your day will continue with the visit of Clochemerle (whose official name is Vaux en Beaujolais), a charming village made famous by a novel. You will then stop in the little town of Salles Arbuissonnas and take a short stroll to the historical Château de Pravins. In the Château, you will meet with the owner, taste some white wine and sparkling wine accompanied with sweets, and enjoy a guided tour. After this busy day full of discoveries, you will head back to Lyon with your guide.

ITINERARY
Meet your private driver and expert guide at your Lyon hotel (or anywhere else in the city center) and settle into a comfortable vehicle while enjoying the ride going to the Beaujolais. On your way, you will marvel at the scenic views of 10 different wine-growing villages, each having its own vineyard and Appellations. From your window, see the vineyards running in tight rows between each village, as well as several historical Châteaux. After few stops allowing you some great photo opportunities, you will head to a first winery where you will enjoy a tasting of 3 wines with a complimentary snack. You will then take a break for a tasty quality lunch. Afterwards, you will hop back on your vehicle and head to the picturesque village of Clochemerle made famous by a 1934's novel. On the way down, you will stop at Salles Arbuissonnas to admire the convent before a small walking to the Château de Pravins situated in the small village of Blacé. Last but not least, you will discover the exquisite local white wine and sparkling wine. Your guide will drive you back to Lyon at the end of the day.

Born in Lyon but raised in the Lyonnaise countryside, I am an art historian and guide lecturer. During my studies, I lived in Seville and Irlande before completing a Master Degree in art history specialized in architecture. Passionned by cultural heritage and architecture, I wanted to become an archeologist but the sharing and transmission dimension was lacking. So I started to work as a tour guide, leading tours in french, english and spanish. After spending a few years with scholar groups in Spain and United Kingdom, I decided to become independant and created my own agency to show my beautiful region off the beaten track: Lyon, the Beaujolais, the Dombes, the Bresse and Bourgogne; there are many hidden sites with a rich historical heritage such as the Château de Fléchères. Being a tour guide is to me the most fascinating job, as it allows me to live out of my passion, as well as meeting with people from all round the world, all with great ease. Beside the cultural, historical and archeological information they receive during the tours, my goal is to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience - something they can remember as a good day filled with wonderment, exchange and discovery.
