Discover the wonders of Portugal's countryside on this private day tour to Mafra and Sintra. After being picked up from your hotel by your chauffeur guide, your will leave Lisbon behind in a comfortable minivan and head to Mafra, a traditional Portuguese town made of clay where you will visit the National Palace, a jewel of baroque architecture, whose Rococo style library is amongst the most beautiful the world. Afterwards, you will take a little stroll in the center. At lunchtime, you will experience the delicious portuguese gastronomy in Ericeira, a charming seaside town famous for its seafood. After lunch, you will take a stroll in the little whitewashed streets. Then, you will head to Sintra, an historic town located atop pine covered hills and whose cultural landscape is part of the UNESCO world heritage. There, you will follow your guide for a commented visit in the impressive Sintra National Palace (Palácio da Vila), most important medieval Royal residence in Portugal; browsing the different rooms, you will be amazed by their magnificent decor influenced by several architectural styles. ITINERARY

Meet your chauffeur guide directly at your hotel in Lisbon and enjoy the scenic ride to the beautiful countryside. Born in Sydney from Portuguese parents, I came back to Portugal twelve years later with my family. After completing my degree in Tourism at the University of Lisbon, I started to work as a guide in the double Decker buses before becoming a freelance guide in a local tourism agency. Soon after, I decided to create my own guiding business because I wanted to plan "non-touristic tours" and show Portugal as locals see it. Living in Sintra, I love to organize guided tours there, as well as in Lisbon and its surroundings. Meeting with people from all across the world and sharing with them my beautiful country is one of the best parts of my job. When I am not guiding, I enjoy taking photographs, but also reading. A Spectacular Day! Unique Tours Factory, Thelma, and her team made our tour of Lisbon and the surrounding beautiful areas so much more incredible than expected. We could not have asked for a better tour specialist and driver. Luis, our guide, and Kim (short for a longer Portuguese name I can’t spell), our driver, were awesome. Luis’ knowledge of the architecture, history, and culture of the area, combined with his fun facts, made our day most enjoyable. Kim’s driving was experienced and his history background complemented Luis’ well. Highly recommend this team, they are the real deal.
