Ready to awake your senses? Leave Bordeaux behind for a day and discover an iconic product from France: cognac. Made for centuries in the region of the same name, this type of brandy is subject to very strict distillation and aging rules in order to get its Appellation.
With your private local guide-driver expert in wine and gastronomy, you will visit a family distillery located nearby the city of Cognac. There, you will enjoy a tasting of one of the best cognac and Pineau des Charentes (between November and March 31, you will also see the stills in action) whose intense aromas will challenge your palate.
At lunchtime, you will discover the delicious local cuisine. The numerous beef and duck specialties will surely delight your taste buds (there will also be vegetarian options).
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a visit and a tasting at a prestigious Cognac House in the heart of Cognac. Again, your senses will be tested.
On this unforgettable day, your guide will uncover the secrets and the history of the Cognac production, and you will discover the beautiful landscapes of Charente.

ITINERARY
Meet your private guide at your hotel in Bordeaux then head to Cognac and the beautiful Charente region. You will travel in a comfortable vehicle, passing through idyllic landscapes of different farms including vineyards. Your first stop will be in a family distillery where you will enjoy a guided tour and taste some Cognac & Pineau des Charentes (local beverage). After a good lunch at a local restaurant, your day will continue with a visit and a tasting at a famous Cognac House in the heart of Cognac city center. At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to your hotel in Bordeaux. Example of schedule for the day: - 9:30am: appointment in the lobby of your hotel in Bordeaux - 11am: Visit and tasting in a family distillery in the Cognac region - 1pm: Lunch at a charming local restaurant - 2:30pm: Visit and tasting at a prestigious House of Cognac - 4.30pm: Departure from Cognac - 6pm / 6.30pm: Arrive at your hotel in Bordeaux (example of distilleries visited during the day: Maison Remy Martin, Cognac Bertrand, Hennessy, Maison Martell, Baron Otard, Courvoisier...)

I was born and raised in the Bordeaux area, few steps away from the picturesque village of Saint-Emilion and its endless vineyards. In my family, wine runs through the veins. My grandfather was a wine-maker, my brother manages a winery, and my cousin sells wine. Working in the fine food industry abroad (US and Latin America) for twelve years, I decided to change my life and career from marketing director to professional tour guide, coming back to my beautiful region to share its treasures. Passionate about meeting with people from different countries and cultures, becoming a guide was quite a destiny, especially after organizing several amateur wine tours for friends visiting from the US. Today I am never tired of showing the beauty, culture and bustle of the Bordeaux region. Holding a level 3 WSET (certificate in wines and spirits education trust), I can lead wine-oriented tours in the Medoc, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and many other areas of the Bordeaux region, in Spanish, French and English languages. I also work with two other guides and wine experts, Laura and Laetitia. Exploring my region with visitors is always a new and inspiring experience. Greg and I would like to say that our tour yesterday with Elodie was absolutely brilliant. Her driving was superb and her knowledge of the area plus Bordeaux in general was so informative and interesting. We loved visiting both places, especially the private chateau.
