Salvador Dalí Tour

Dive into the surrealist world of Dalí in Figueres

WITH
Lydia | about the guide

Salvador Dalí is iconic artist, the father of surrealism and a highly eccentric (and intriguing) personality. During this full-day tour, you’ll be plunged into his imaginative, colorful and dream-like world as you explore the Dalí Theatre and Museum in Figueres. Built by Dalí himself, the museum was designed as a journey into the soul and is filled with powerful allegories about human nature, consciousness and dreams. “I want my museum to be a single block, a labyrinth, a great surrealist object. It will be totally theatrical museum. The people who come to see it will leave with the sensation of having had a theatrical dream” - Salvador Dalí Accompanied by an experienced local guide you’ll admire masterpieces including Port Alguer (1924), The Spectre of Sex-appeal (1932) and Soft self-portrait with grilled bacon (1941), as well as the glass geodesic dome cupola of the old theatre where Dalí is buried in a crypt beneath the stage. On your way back to Barcelona, you’ll have time to explore the medieval center of the nearby city of Girona including the ancient cathedral, fortifications and picturesque river-side house, Cases de l'Onyar.

I am a half Greek, half German who has been living in Barcelona for many years. After working in Greece, I decided to move to Barcelona, a fascinating city that is dynamic all year around. I’ve been living in and exploring Catalonia since 2002 and now know Barcelona better than most locals! Since obtaining my official tour guiding license and buying an air conditioned mini-van, I’ve been sharing my passion and knowledge about Barcelona and Catalonia with visitors from all over the world. One of my proudest moment was when one of my customers told me that I made every corner come alive. I’m an optimistic, sociable person who prefers not to be locked in an office and loves being around people of this lovely country. I am also passionate about history and art (I studied history and linguistics), singing (I’m a soprano) and animals. My aim is to show visitors every corner of the region from the city center to typical Catalan villages to make its history and traditions come alive. My passion and enthusiasm are contagious! PS : my tours are sometimes guided by my sister Nicole, who is also a guide who has the same skills , qualifications and experience guiding the tours.
