WITH
Lydia | about the guide

This tour is the perfect way to delve into the heart and soul of Catalonia. Not only will you savor some of its most delicious delights, but also immerse yourself in its history and culture. Picking you up from your hotel, your expert guide will drive you to the nearby Santa Maria de Montserrat, one of the most visited sights in Catalonia. You’ll admire the stunning architecture of the 1000-year-old abbey, famous for the Virgin of Montserrat (the black virgin), a popular Catalan saint nestled in the mountains in the sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de Montserrat. You will also visit the museum where you will discover the region’s rich artistic and archaeological heritage in the numerous collections of paintings (Monet, Degas, El Greco, Caravaggio, Dali, Picasso, Miro...), icons and liturgical objects. Then, you will continue on to the Codorniu winery near San Sadurni d'Anoia, just 40 minutes from Barcelona. The friendly owner will take you on a guided tour of the beautiful modern facilities and vineyards, while explaining how the Catalan specialty, cava, is made. At this point, you’ll sample 8 local varieties that you can accompany by an array of typical tapas designed to complement the flavor of the wines.

I am a half Greek, half German who has been living in Barcelona for many years. After working in Greece, I decided to move to Barcelona, a fascinating city that is dynamic all year around. I’ve been living in and exploring Catalonia since 2002 and now know Barcelona better than most locals! Since obtaining my official tour guiding license and buying an air conditioned mini-van, I’ve been sharing my passion and knowledge about Barcelona and Catalonia with visitors from all over the world. One of my proudest moment was when one of my customers told me that I made every corner come alive. I’m an optimistic, sociable person who prefers not to be locked in an office and loves being around people of this lovely country. I am also passionate about history and art (I studied history and linguistics), singing (I’m a soprano) and animals. My aim is to show visitors every corner of the region from the city center to typical Catalan villages to make its history and traditions come alive. My passion and enthusiasm are contagious! PS : my tours are sometimes guided by my sister Nicole, who is also a guide who has the same skills , qualifications and experience guiding the tours.

Nicole was the perfect guide for both our tours . She was punctual. Had a great background knowledge of Barcelona and Montserrat . We learned so much about the history of the area. Nicole went out of her way to add in a few extras on the tour . She has a great personality and kept us engaged throughout the tours . The time just flew by . Our two days spent touring with Nicole were definitely the highlights of our trip to Barcelona . We give her 5 stars !!

Great time with Nicole, Lydia's sister yesterday visiting the Cordorniu Winery and Montserrat. Nicole gave us lots of history and information about each place and she was so helpful answering questions and providing information about our stay in Barcelona. Wouldn't hesitate to call Nicole again anytime we need a tour guide in Barcelona in the future!

We had a great day with Nicole - Lydia's sister. She was very professional, knowledgeable and a joy to be around. Nicole arrived on time at our hotel and drove us to Montserrat. We have a great tour of the museum and Bascilia. We stayed to listen to the choir at 1:00 pm then a quick lunch before driving to the Cordorniu Cavas. Throughout the tour Nicole provided us this plenty of history about the region and Spain in general. Thanks so much and I highly recommend this tour.
