I initially trained to be an actress at the Drama Studio, London, an invaluable background for a Blue Badge guide, enabling me to hold the attention of both large and intimate audiences. I have a 1st class Honours degree (University of London) and a Diploma in Art History and am particularly interested in art, architecture and cultural history. For many years I guided the British Museum's own public and private tours, a museum where I offer many specialist tours. I have worked full time as an independent guide for more than 20 years, constantly updating my tours. Amongst my clients are a U.S. Vice President, ambassadors, a Hollywood actress, art societies, top professionals, students, and many wonderfully curious visitors! I am Italian and I have been living in London for many years. Before moving to England I spent a few years in Japan where I gained important professional and cultural experiences. After moving to London, I quickly set out exploring the many galleries, museums and neighborhoods. Born and raised in the beautiful city of London, I graduated from the University of Manchester in Literature and Linguistics. During my studies, I had my first work experience with a newspaper and I quickly realised that office work was not challenging enough for me. Instead, I decided to focus on what I was obsessed with, namely, food! I also worked as a chef and I loved the experience but I was not organised enough to make it a full-time job so I decided to become a foodie guide. After graduating from university, I got a summer job as a tour guide on the London open tour buses. It was a lot of fun and I learned so much - I felt like I learned even more than I did during all those years at university. I created my own business and started to work with some other guides who could replace me when I was not available. As of today, I have been a tour guide for 6 years and I really enjoy it. I absolutely love food and chocolate has been an obsession since my childhood in the Australian countryside when sneaked Cadbury’s Dairy Milk from the cupboard and started to experiment in the kitchen. After travelling the world in search of incredible food experiences, I settled in the culinary melting pot of London, which I explored enthusiastically. Combining my two passions, I decided to fulfil my dream of setting up a business to show people around London and provide insight into chocolate. 9 years later, I still love meeting new people and introducing them to incredible chocolate. As well as running my chocolate tours, I am currently consulting for various businesses on cost analysis, strategy, taste analysis and recipe development. I also write and speak about chocolate, desserts and food for different events and publications, and am hatching plenty of plans for the future. In love with London, I moved there several years ago and completed the Blue Badge guide course which entitles me today to guide visitors through many different places and sites in London and its surroundings, including their historical and cultural facts. I have always been interested in tourism: as a little girl sitting at my desk at home, with an atlas and other various guide books around me, I tried to sell tours to family members. Then, as a teenager I found the perfect summer job as a tour guide in one of the many castles in the Czech Republic. My relationship with that castle lasted over ten years. To pick a course at University was a piece of cake, anything tourism related. After three years, I was the proud holder of a Management in Tourism degree and a National Tour Guiding certificate for the Czech Republic. Throughout my studies I have detoured a little bit, spending some years abroad working as a Flight Attendant for easyJet: still in tourism but just a different sector...
